Rails to Trails exhibit opening at the Wellington County Museum and Archives

Rails to Trails

In celebration of 25th anniversary of the Elora Cataract Trailway Association (ECTA), the Wellington County Museum and Archives newest exhibit Rails to Trails explores the stories of the development of the ECTA Trailway and the ongoing efforts to keep it thriving in our communities.

“The Elora- Cataract Trailway has contributed in countless ways to the fabric of the communities through which it passes for approximately 25 years,” says Rick Goodfellow, one of the founding members of the ECTA. “This significant milestone served as the catalyst to recognize and honour those who had the vision and dedication to create this wonderful resource which is celebrated in this exhibit.”

“On display are paintings, objects and photographs, stories and interactive elements where the public can contribute their own memories and stories into the space,” says Amy Dunlop, Curatorial Assistant.

Please join us at the opening reception on Sunday, June 4 from 1:30 to 3:30 pm at the Wellington County Museum and Archives, located on Wellington Road 18 between Fergus and Elora. The galleries are open weekdays from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm and on weekends from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. Admission is by donation.
